The End of One Era, the Start of Another

For those of you who don't know, I am going to be moving to California around the 6th of August. It's been no big surprise that I haven't been blogging lately, but it's just been laziness.

But, in honor of the new life experience I am about to embark on, I have started a new blog.... and I won't be using this one anymore!

Please visit: http://RJinLincoln.blogspot.com

I will be posting all future blogs there... enjoy!!

A Record Setting Blog...

Recently, I have begun a "Things I Want to do Before I Die" list... no I haven't been diagnosed with a terminal illness, just beginning to make a list. I thing I want to do is skydive, which I hope to be doing this summer. The second thing I want to do is set a world record. ... so far that is my list...

Trying to figure out what kind of record I could break, I have been browsing for odd world records. In a search to find the record of the guy who sat in every single seat in a stadium in a certain amount of time (which is one I'd like to try for), I came across one that was consecutive movie watching. Some guy named Mike Joy in 1994 set the record for consecutive movie watching at 54 hours. I haven't seen any updated information. I think I would go for 72hours. A nice even 3days to shatter his record... in an article, he said he'd reclaim the record, so I'd like to make it harder for him to do so since I wouldn't want to have to do 100 hours after he broke mine. I guess they have really strict rules. You can choose the movies, but you can have a 5 minute break in between movies, and a 15 minute break in between every 3 movies. Then, you need to have at least one person there next to you to make sure that you are awake, and they have to keep a log book.

Now I just need to find a list of action-packed movies that aren't too long (more breaks)...

P.S. If you'd like to sign up for the shifts somewhere between 2am and 6:30am if I do eventually do it, definitely let me know!!!!

P.S.S. Plus the guy won free popcorn for a year... Hoooo Wahhhhh!

Breathtaking

So I was looking online to see what the world record for holding your breath under water is. The world record is held by Tom Sietas of Germany who stayed under for 8 minutes, 47 seconds!

Crazy!! My own personal record is 61 seconds done at the YMCA pool. (Booo ya amanda! You didnt think I could even get close!) I have a long way to go, but I am hoping to break a minute and a half sometime this summer!

I was planning on going tomorrow with my little brother for big brother big sisters, but he has family in town, so maybe next weekend! (By the way, his own personal record is 22 seconds... but he's 10.)

A penny dropped is a penny myth....

DOing some 'research' for a friend who asked people's opinion on the topic, I went straight to Google and found some enlightening answers...

The old story regarding dropping a penny from the empire state building, in the authors words, "Hogwash...Poppycock."

Read the story at the link below:

As my mind winds down...

So last night, at around midnight, brain cells began to disappear forever. No, not from smoking pot to celebrate 4/20, but as I was strangely locked down mentally into watching Elimidate. Sure, i've seen it a few times before, but this time I sat down and watched a whole hours worth. I still can't figure out why. The females on there were not even attractive... one was kind of cute, the rest were just not cute, annoying, and stupid. Maybe it's just the process that my brain is taking to stop working in a few weeks once I finally finish college. That's the only thing I can think of to explain such biazarre events.

The Mystical Properties of Time.

As a kid, especially in high school, I would hear adults say "Time flies by faster as you get older." I didn't believe them. Looking back on my last 4 years here in Reno, I would have to say that time has flown by amazingly fast. I can remember driving down Virginia St my first night in town, with my soon-to-be-roommate, looking for the fast food restaurants... it seems like last week, and that was more than 3 1/2 years ago! It's crazy.

But then I think of the last few weeks, especially since I began to start counting down towards graduation, and it seems like it has taken forever! I only have 11 days of real classes, and then 2 days of finals (probably 3 cuz i'll take my time on my online ones) but that seems sooooo far away.... and then, even after I finish those finals, I have to wait a week to actually graduate.... crazy crazy crazy.

War On Drugs...

So, we have this supposed War on Drugs... although the statistics are amazingly high on how it has failed, but ya... here's more:

Alarmed at the rates of obesity among young people, the children's programme Sesame Street is embarking on a drive to educate its audience about the benefits of healthy eating. As part of the project, some of the show's favourite characters are getting nothing less than a makeover - Cookie Monster is going on a diet while Elmo has started professing a love for exercise.....

Wow... one of my favorite shows as a kid... I hope that Cookie Monster doesn't soon develop a poor self image.

I'm back and blogging!!!!

Wow... it's been such a long time since I've written. And what better day to start writing again than when there's only 168 days left until Hilary Duff turns 18. Boy that will be a wonderful day for men across the world....

I thought I maybe had strep throat, i had a sore throat that last like 4 days and they say to go get it checked if it lasts longer than 3.... Good news is that it wasn't strep.... bad news is that she noticed i had pink eye... good news is she caught it early before it even began hurting, so hopefully it'll be all better soon.

I have no desire to do any homework, and study.... I actually put a lot of work into studying for my Nutrition test i took this morning... usually i do it the night before or the morning of.... but I had to do well on this one....and I think I did, so that's good.

Hopefully I can write daily, or every other day.... Please continue to come back.... adios!

Long time no see....

Wow, it's been a long time since I've written, but I hope to begin to start getting back into the flow of writing on a regular basis...

I was watching Nickelodeon....and they had a commercial that was a spoof of old 'be healthy' commercials.... but i think it was God speaking directly to me.... it was the dangers of eating too much pie... Did you know that 1 pecan pie has the same amount of fat or something as 12 cheeseburgers.... well, pecan pie sucks, so i don't have to worry about that.

At the end, they said "Make sure you don't turn P-I-E into P-I-G... so I'm a pig now, huh?
